The basics steps are:
- make wooden plugs
- create the inlay cavity on the fretboard
- glue the dot inlays into the fretboard
- cut them flush and sand

It’s not a common item but it’s not very difficult to find in most big hardware stores (in Canada and US anyways). You just need to know what to look for. In Spanish, they are called “cortador de enchufe”, thanks to Google 🙂
